Set in a small village and a short walk away from stunning Selong Belanak beach, we chose Bukit Indah Boutique Accommodation as our base for exploring south Lombok.
Bukit Indah consists of 4 air conditioned bungalows with adjoining open air (but very private!) bathrooms all set in a pretty garden. Each bungalow has a wide patio for lounging in the shade – enjoy your breakfast there or in the al fresco communal dining area. The rooms are spacious, well maintained and spotlessly clean with a king size bed, mosquito nets and lovely linen. The staff made up an extra comfortable bed for our daughter.
The staff at Bukit Indah are wonderful – our host Purna was super friendly, professional, and went out of his way to ensure our stay was perfect. He picked us up from Lombok International Airport at Praya and drove us back to Bukit Indah – it’s about 45 minutes away. At the end of our stay, Purna (and his brother) drove us to our next stop of Senaru on the slopes of Mount Rinjani. Purna is local to the area and we took a half day tour with him to visit some of the other secluded beaches along Lombok’s south coast.
Breakfast is home made and delicious – with homemade bread rolls, fresh fruit and ricotta pancakes as well as Indonesian options. If you order early in the day, they can also prepare tasty lunch and dinner meals.
The gorgeous Selong Belanak beach is about a 20 minute walk away but Purna or his staff will give you a ride if you don’t feel like walking – or you can borrow bikes. We walked several times – it was a great way to meet the local people and spot monkeys in the trees!
